Located in the heart of Newport's historic downtown, the Artful Lodger Inn is a Victorian house with antiquated details like steep winding stairs and narrow halls. Guest Reviews & Ratings
My stay at the hotel was fantastic! The rooms were perfect in every way - comfortable, clean, and spacious. We also enjoyed spending time on the wonderful first-floor front porch with friends. However, there was a slightly overpowering smell of air freshener, noticeable when coming back inside, although it became less noticeable over time. The service was top-notch, with a very friendly and accommodating staff that added a delightful community feel to our experience. The location was ideal, within walking distance of all the local tourist sights and just minutes away from the action along Thames Street. The dining experience was delicious, with cooked-to-order meals served in the penthouse overlooking the water, providing a fabulous view.
I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The rooms were beautifully decorated with lots of little amenities that made my stay extra special. The hot tub and fireplace were a real treat, and despite the building being on the older side, they did a great job in accommodating for its age. The room was a bit cold at first but quickly warmed up, providing a cozy atmosphere.
My stay at the Artful Lodger was wonderful with cozy and clean rooms, a big comfy bed, and a peaceful atmosphere. However, the hotel could do with some updating as it had an old-fashioned feel and a musty smell. On the plus side, the breakfast was excellent and they even had a bathtub, which was a nice touch.
